How I sequence Java in App-V

attib: digitalart

Earlier this week I was queried (by Andrew) about an issue with the JreBlock script we use for sequencing Java. There was an issue with using in on 64-bit machines. Patrick wrote the original version for us more than 4 years ago, and we were using a different version in our training classes than was on the website so I didn’t notice when we switched to x64 machines ourselves.

So Wednesday I posted an update to JreBlock, the PowerShell script that we use to sequence versions of Java using App-V. At that time I also updated the original blogpost from Patrick that introduced the script.

Today I am releasing a video you can download that shows me using it to sequence a version of java and test is on a system with a newer version natively installed.

If your company (still) needs Java, you need to do this.
