    Debugging in Windows for IT

    Montreal MASTER CLASS

     In-Person Only
    Thu July 24, 2024
    2PM-6PM

    Presented by TMurgent Technologies

    Status:       OPEN     REGISTRATION OPEN

TMurgent is adding a new training offer.  Just about anyone in IT that works with Microsoft Windows could use some help with how to debug in Windows.  Whatever type of applications that you deal with, we all know that sometimes things break, and someone has to figure out why/what to do about it.

Known for our world renowned MSIX packaging training, we are breaking out this all-important content for anyone in IT, whether packaging in some other format or just supporting the enterprise in other ways.

This Master Class is being held in conjunction with the E2EVC conference in Montreal Canadaas a paid add-on. A separate registration for that conference is required to register for this class.  E2EVC is a different kind of IT conference, designed for practitioners that want open dialog about the technologies we use, especially in the "End-User Computing" (EUC) space.  Vendors are present, but there are NO sales pitches, or marketecture.  Just tech talk by a few engineers, maybe even you if you wish. Normally held in Europe, this is the first North American venue for this conference in many years.

The Master Level MSIX Packaging class will be run by Tim Mangan, the leading world-wide expert in Windows and Applications.  Part lecture and part "hands-on" lab, this class will upskill anyone dealing with Windows problems.

Note: The class is a 1-day class for 4 hours on the afternoon before the main conference.

    Syllabus:

Master Class on Making Stuff Work in Windows

    with Tim Mangan

In this class we will work on improving the debugging skills of the IT Pro participants, with a focus on application issues. You will work hands-on in some VMs provided in the labs.  Participants need only to bring a laptop that can RDP into the VMs.  An outline of the agenda:

    • Introduction
    • Windows Internal Basics
    • Apps and Users
    • Fundamentals of Manipulations
    • Log and Event Tracking
    • SysInternals Tools
    • Dependencies
    • Other Tools

The class will be a mixture of lecture and hands-on labs. Participants will receive an understanding of how Windows works, how applications integrate with Windows, and how products like App virtualization/layering and profile manipulation work.  We will train you on how to effectively use different debugging tools, and make you aware of several others that might be useful in odd situations.

All students will receive a signed copy of "The Application Book" by Tim Mangan, the "bible" for application re-packagers.
