I am pleased to announce that I have just been named a Citrix Technology Professional\u00a0(CTP)<\/a>.\u00a0 The\u00a0CTP is Citrix’s version of the Microsoft MVP.\u00a0 I rewards professionals that contribute to the community and establishes a two-way dialog with the company, both to improve our understanding of Citrix and as a conduit so that Citrix can access the industry “thought leaders” as they develop further products and enhancements.<\/p>\n

I have been a Microsoft MVP for three years now, but have never been invited into the Citrix program.\u00a0 This is most likely because when Citrix started the CTP\u00a0program, they were still competing with SoftGrid (now App-V) so I wasn’t really welcome.\u00a0 Now that Citrix and Microsoft are such good buddies, I guess that isn’t a concern.\u00a0 Which is great news.\u00a0 For a number of years, it was hard for me to do much with Citrix.\u00a0 It seemed that I consistently found myself working with third party vendors that complemented what Citrix was doing — until Citrix bought or OEMed a competitor.\u00a0 Citrix, at that point, didn’t work terribly effectivelywith third party companies with what they considered “competitive” products.<\/p>\n

Citrix\u00a0has really changed in how they work with outsiders, especially in the last year and a half.\u00a0\u00a0I sensed this and started working more with the Citrix products in this last year.\u00a0 I was even invited to speak at Synergy this year in the main program.\u00a0 Quite a shift from past shows where the content was strictly controlled.\u00a0<\/p>\n
