I added an updated version, Version 1.7, of HyperV_Mon today.<\/p>\n

HyperV_Mon is a free monitoring tool for use with Microsoft Hyper-V. It provides a graphical display of the main performance indexes for both the VMs and the physical host. This includes CPU, Memory, Paging, as well as File and Network I\/O traffic.<\/p>\n

More importantly, it displays CPU “virtualization overhead” that we can detect from low level counters in the hypervisor.<\/p>\n

The program has no installer, it just needs DotNet 3.5 and you configure it with the name of your Hyper-V host.<\/p>\n

Version 1.5 adds a few new counters, plus it now better handles situations where WMI access into a VM is not available. This happens for a while when VMs are comming up or down, Remote WMI was not available in the VM, or a firewall prevents this access. Previously this might stall the user interface, but now it is handled more gracefully.<\/p>\n
