In this course you will learn abut the installation and use of PassiveInstall Framework, a PowerShell module useful in creating scripted Passive or Silent installations.
The module is useful no matter how you install and customize applications for a Microsoft Operating System. It allows you to do many of the kinds of customizations that normally require an expensive MSI repackaging tool.
Used in combination with the AppV_Manage tool, you can capture an installer via the App-V Sequencer, and then use AppV_Manage to analyze the capture and produce a PowerShell script that uses this framework. The result is an improved and customized installation (using the original installer plus this script) that can be used for App-V sequencing or native deployment using imaging, configuration manager, or app layering.
This is an introductory course into using PsfTooling. PsfTooling is used in conjunction with the Microsoft MSIX Packaging Tool (MMPT) to repackage vendor an in-house built applications into MSIX packages.
The course assumes basic experience in repackaging in general and some exposure in using the MMPT.
