Hotel Information:
The Buckminster Hotel is an updated version of a "classic" Boston hotel with variable room rates that vary widely depending on the nearby Red Sox and University schedules.  While it isn't what you expect to find in your typical major brand hotel, we do ask the class about their stay and unanimously they preferred staying at the hotel for the great location in spite of a few inconveniences.  Whether you stay here or elsewhere is up to you! (Mary Jane can help you with other choices).
The hotel is near Fenway Park (where the Red Sox baseball team plays) and Kenmore Square. Kenmore Square marks the start of Boston University which intermingles with the city, and is a convenient stop on the "T" (which is the subway in Boston).

Buckminster rates vary significantly.  We do have a student discount for you as part of the class, but to get the discount you must book the hotel directly and not through a travel agent or travel website (and you must mention you are with the group "TMurgent Technologies").  There are also 16 different room styles and costs.  You are welcome to shop around and stay elsewhere, but this is a pretty good deal for Boston at a great location.

If you fly into town, Boston Logan is the most convenient airport for you. (Providence RI is reachable with train also). You really won't want a car as public transportation is the way to go.
  • When you land at Logon, the "T" stop will be outside your terminal, to the right end of the building as you exit baggage claim. You should see signs for the "Silver Line" and a "T" inside a circle. The Silver Line is a bus that runs on streets and dedicated tunnels in different parts of town.
  • There is no cost to take the Silver Line from the airport to your hotel, but note that this is the only free ride you'll get. After this trip you will need to get a Charlie Card to get on.
  • You take the Silver Line to South Station.
  • Get off there. Transfer to the Red Line train towards Alewife
  • Get off at Park Street Station. Transfer to the Green Line train outbound. You may take any B, C, or D train.
  • Exit at Kenmore Square. Hotel is about a block away at the intersection of Beacon Street and Brookline Avenue. The Hotel is marked "A" on the map below (click to expand image):
