Application Virtualization (formerly SoftGrid) training courses based on the GridMaster Training system!
GridMasterTraining is a joint venture between our founder, Tim Mangan, and Kevin Kaminski of The Big Hat Group. GridMaster Training is the leading Independent training course for Microsoft
Application Virtualization.
The development of this course material combines the expertise of knowing the platform from the inside out with the practical experience of working with numerous customers in implementing the entire solution.
The course consists of a heavy dose of sequencing, and covers all three methods
of deploying virtual applications (dedicated virtual
application servers, SCCM,
and MSI).
Courses offered by TMurgent Technologies are available on both publicly and on a private basis at or near your company.
In some cases, your local Microsoft reseller/integrator may host a semi-private class for several customers.
All classes are customized, however the typical class is a 5 day class led by App-V
guru, and Microsoft MVP for Virtualization, Tim Mangan.
The typical course consists of three separate modules, Administration, Sequencing, and Best Practices.
The emphasis of the course is hands-on and practical as to how you are going to deploy
Application Virtualization and prepare applications.
We cover both the basics and deep-dives via instructor presentations.
The labs are designed to provide, hands on experience in installing and maintaining the platform, plus substantial application sequencing.
Students are encouraged to bring in their own troublesome
applications to work on such that real-world troubleshooting can be experienced.
All students leave with a hard copy of the GridMasterTraining Companion Guides for their future reference.
These guides are the definitive word on Microsoft Application Virtualization!
Students successfully completing the class will receive a certificate from GridMasterTraining.
Public, Private, or Semi-Private Training?
Classes are established in one of three ways:
- Public: We regularly schedule public classes where individuals or groups may register. Most of these classes are held in the Boston (US) area.
- Private: On request, we can provide a customized class on-site at your company.
- Semi-Private: A company can request to sponsor a class in their area.
The advantage of private classes is the ability to focus in on how you use Microsoft Application Virtualization.
Maybe you use SoftGrid for Terminal Services, maybe you use the Desktop product.
Maybe you use both.
Maybe you are an ASP/MSP with multiple customers to service.
Maybe you have branch offices.
Maybe you have a lot of Java apps.
These private classes, typically held on your site using your own test
equipment provide the absolute best training available.
Don't have enough people to train to justify a private class? Contact your local
reseller and ask if they can host a semi-private class!
They probably have another customer or two to help fill in the seats. A maximum of 10 seats is recommended in each class.
Public classes are also occasionally scheduled in various locations. Check for the next public class
on the left side of this page, or click for the full list of scheduled classes.
Public classes are limited to only 10 participants due to the hands-on nature of the class.
Please let us know of your interest and location in public classes, which will improve the odds of a class near you sooner.
