About Public Microsoft App-V "Masters Level" Training by TMurgent

"The ultimate training class for App-V is the Masters Level App-V Training run by Tim Mangan at TMurgent. You want to learn from the best of the best!"

The TMurgent "Masters Level" App-V training courses is the most thorough and advanced training on App-V in the world. Whether you are brand new to App-V or an old hand looking to upgrade your skills for the latest version, this class will teach you the fundamentals through to the techniques the experts use.

After attending this class you will be able to:

  • Select the right App-V deployment architecture for your company.
  • Know how to install and administer all App-V components.
  • Learn how to sequence (prepare) applications for virtualizations.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot problems that arise.

Unless you have a team of five or more, our public class offering, which is scheduled four or five times a year, is the most cost effective way to get up and running with App-V.  This is a five day, hands on, intensive course of study. The emphasis of the course is hands-on and practical as to how you are going to deploy Application Virtualization and prepare applications. We cover both the basics and deep-dives via instructor presentations. The labs are designed to provide, hands on experience in installing and maintaining the platform, plus substantial application sequencing. Students are encouraged to bring in their own troublesome applications to work on such that real-world troubleshooting can be experienced. All students leave with a hard copy of the GridMasterTraining Companion Guides for App-V 5 for their future reference. These guides are the definitive word on Microsoft Application Virtualization! Students successfully completing the class will receive a certificate from GridMasterTraining.

Materials are based on the GridMaster Training system. GridMasterTraining is a joint venture between our founder, Tim Mangan, and Kevin Kaminski of The Big Hat Group.  GridMaster Training  is the leading Independent training course for Microsoft Application Virtualization. The development of this course material combines the expertise of knowing the platform from the inside out with the practical experience of working with numerous customers in implementing the entire solution.  Except under rare circumstances, classes are run on the latest public release.  We have even been known to swap in a new release that occurs during the week of the class when we have had access to the pre-release versions.

Course Includes:

  • 4 days of Masters Level Microsoft Application Virtualization Administration and Sequencing course.
  • Access to Hands-on Lab.
  • Lunches all 4 days.
  • The three GridMasterTraining Companion Guides for Concepts, Administration, and Sequencing for App-V 5.

The course and materials typically run on the latest released version by Microsoft.

Class Schedule:

Classes run from 9am to 5pm daily.  In most of the world, this class is delivered in 4 days, but it used to be a 5 day class (and in some regions it still is). Over time we have worked on consolidating it down to 4 jam-packed days.  Anticipated Morning and Afternoon schedule is shown for the four day class below. Please assume you need to stay in class utill 5PM on the final day when booking your flights!

Public classes are normally limited to a maximum of 10 students to ensure that everyone receives the individual attention they deserve.

Syllabus:

We do not publicly post our syllabus because we have found it copied by others when in fact they do not cover App-V as throughly as we do.  There are currently 16 labs in the Sequencing Guidebook alone, plus additional server labs. Rest assured, you are learning from the best of the best and our class is the most complete available.  If in doubt, just tweet out a question about the quality of the class on twitter using the #appv hashtag.

Cost and Availability:

For public classes run by TMurgent and held inside the US, the cost is $2,750USD per person.  Classes held in other locations or hosted by a third party company may cost more; check the individual class for cost.  Most public classes are held in the Boston, MA area, although we typically move a winter class somewhere warmer.

Public classes are normally limited to a maximum of 10 students to ensure that everyone receives the individual attention they deserve.

Classes run roughly on a quarterly basis. We normally will have one to two dates posted at any time.

"Mary Jane: The training was awesome, please tell Tim and Patrick that we appreciated it."

John Chaplain,
Northeastern U,

"I just wanted to thank you and Mary Jane for the best Training class I have ever had the pleasure to experience. The pace was excellent and the coverage of application virtualization was extremely through. Both you and Mary Jane were great! The hospitality, friendliness and the ease that you were able to field all the questions that the class was able to throw at you made for a training experience to remember."

Keith Hawkins,
Software Engineer ,
National Oilwell Varco
Texas

"I just wanted to drop a line to you and thank you very much for the training. I was able to return to my office and completely revamp my APP-V deployment; it's now working 100% and without any problems whatsoever. without this class I would not have been able to get my environment working as smoothly as it is running now. I was able to APP-V QuickBooks in a matter of days because of the training and information I learned from this course where I spent months on it before with no success. I recommend this course to ANYONE who is using APP-V as you will be amazed at your productivity levels after learning the "Right" way to do things!!"

Jeff Crossley,
Anthem Education Group,
Arizona

"Thanks again for the great week of training, I've been busy working up some sequenced apps (including the SAP Front-End GUI that I started on during the class)."

Steven W. English,
Babcock and Wilcox,
New York
